Year 7 Homework List

1.Research Antoni Gaudi, collect your images and information.

2.Create Gaudi title reflecting the artist’s style

3.Present your images and information (look at the front of your book for ideas)

4.Develop your own idea for a building or mosaic in response to Gaudi’s style of work.

5.Research the architect Santiago Calatrava. Collect images and information.

6.Create a title reflecting your architect’s style (think about the shapes/materials they use)

7.Present your architect’s images and information on the title page.

8.Create a building design in response to your architect.

9.Research an artist of your choice. Collect images (title date and media of each) and information.

10.Create a title looking at the artist’s style of work.

11.Present collected information and images on the title page.

12.Create your own response to the artist’s work.

 

Year 8 Homework List

1. Research Van Gogh’s self- portraits, please look at his painting of his chair and his shoes. Collect your images and information. ( Remember title, date and media of the works of art.)

2. Create your artist research page reflecting the artist’s style writing about the work using the SEMI approach.

3. Plan your own response as your own self-portrait taking ideas from your research and thinking about what is important to you and how you will show this.

4. Produce your personal response, your own self – portrait showing connections to your research.

5. Research Chris Ofili’s portrait ‘No Woman, No Cry ’, collect images and information about this work.

6. Create your artist research page reflecting the artist’s style writing about the work using the SEMI approach.

7. Compare Picasso’s weeping woman with Chris Ofili’s No Woman, No Cry using the Venn diagram approach.

8. Research Frida Kahlo or Chuck Close. Both these artists produce selfportraits. Choose the work you like most and collect your images and information. (Remember T.D.M.)

9. Create your artist research page reflecting the artist’s style writing about the work using the SEMI approach.

10. Plan your own idea for a personal response.

11. Produce your personal response.

12. Evaluate your own work comparing and contrasting it to the artist’s work using the Venn diagram approach , the SEMI approach or the prompt sheet provided.

 

Year 9 Homework List

1. Research Anatol Knotek, collect your images and information. Remember do not stick them in until next week.

2. Create your Knotek title reflecting the artist’s style and present your images in an interesting way.

3. Create your own piece of artwork in response to Anatol Knotek.

4. Research the collage artists Hannah Hoch or Kurt Schwitters. Collect images and information.

5. Create a title reflecting your artist’s style (think about the shapes/materials they use). Present information you have collected and images in an interesting way.

6/7. Create your own response to your chosen artist’s work.

8. Research an artist of your choice related to one or more of the skills you have covered in class. Collect images (title, date and media of each) and information.

9. Create a title looking at the artist’s style of work and present collected information and images on the title page.

10/11. Create a response to one of your collected images.

12. Write an evaluation for your final piece from class.

Students can buy an Art Pack from the Art Department.  Containing an A3 sketchbook, a watercolour paint set. a set of brushes and a plastic wallet to carry everything in, it represents excellent value for money at only £10 a set.
